45 minutes 'up the road' you'll find Fort Pickett Lakes - including the Fort Pickett Reservoir, a 384-acre impoundment on the Nottoway River. Where gasoline motors are permitted on the Fort Pickett reservoirs and ponds, there is a 25 mph speed limit. This is another little hidden gem of a location to go paddling - nice and quiet place - generally a few fishermen and you can paddle up the Nottoway River as well.
